Scam Of The Week: February 21st
Lowlife Scum Exploits Recent Parkland School Shooting
Lowlife internet scum are trying to benefit from the Parkland school shootings. They are now sending out phishing campaigns that try to trick you into clicking on a variety of links about blood drives, charitable donations, "inside" information, or "exclusive" videos of the shooting. Don't let them shock you into clicking on anything or opening possibly dangerous attachments you did not ask for!
Anything you receive about the Parkland shooting, be very suspicious. Think three times before you click or tap your phone. It is very possible that it is a scam, even though it might look legit. Be especially careful if the email or message comes from someone you know, because their account may be hacked.
In case you want to donate to charity in support of the victims, go to the website of that charity by typing their name in the address bar of your browser. Do not click links in emails that appear to go to charity websites. Remember, these precautions are just as important at the house as in the office. Share with your family and friends.
Let's stay safe out there!
Stop, Look, and Think. Don't be fooled.
